Prayer & Fasting Day 2 – Finances

I am counting on the LORD;
yes, I am counting on him.
I have put my hope in his word.
– Psalm 130:5

There are a couple of things in life you can always count on…
– You’ll fall sick when you’ve taken leave
– It’ll rain just after you wash your car
– Your toast will always fall butter side down

We count on our friends, we count on our families, and we also count on the balance of our bank account, even though these things aren’t always able to meet all our needs.

Our scripture today is a beautiful reminder to count on God and put our hope in him.

Bible scholar Matthew Henry wrote, “I wait for the Lord; from him I expect relief and comfort, believing it will come, longing till it does come, but patiently bearing the delay of it, and resolving to look for it from no other hand.”

When we trust God with our finances, we choose to count on Him, his provision and his timing, rather than on anything or anyone else.

What next step can you take today to trust God in the area of your finances?
