FRIENDSHIPS
Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
– Ruth 1:16 NIV
When I think of friendship, one of the first relationships that comes to mind is the relationship between Ruth and Naomi in the Book of Ruth. It is a wonderful example of a godly friendship reflecting grace, kindness, encouragement and wisdom.
Ruth prioritised the relationship she had with Naomi and made a choice to stay by her side.
Friendships shouldn’t just be for convenience. Friendships should be intentional.
Transitions in life are inevitable, and we need God and his divine wisdom to help us navigate through our friendships in each phase – studying, singleness, marriage, parenting and even retirement.
Make sure that you have the right people encouraging you through life. People who care enough to be honest and speak truth in love. People who give you grace to grow, kindness when the world is tough and godly wisdom when making decisions.
