Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies.
– 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV
Unhealthy relationships are something that can be spoken about often, mostly within the context of interpersonal relationships. If there’s an unhealthy relationship in our lives, it should be addressed.
These days, another type of unhealthy relationship can exist, particularly because we are living in a time where convenience and comfort are king and – as a result – so is the couch.
The relationship we have to the overall health of our bodies is important if we are to live well and have a long-term impact for the Kingdom of God. What we eat and drink, our level of physical activity and the quality of our rest are some key factors that contribute to our physical health.
As we start a new year, we have the opportunity to reflect on what has passed and make some adjustments for the future in order to do what we can to ensure we honour God even with our physical health.
– Andre Bruyns
Question for reflection:
