Reigniting Zeal

In Romans 12:11 Paul shares with us an important command…
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.”
Do you ever feel lacking in zeal? Here, Paul is talking about feeling sluggish in your relationship with God. He’s describing a feeling of laziness, a lack of desire. Do you ever feel like your spirit is anything but fervent?
Thankfully, God will never ask you to do something or be someone without His help. In order to stir up zeal for the Lord and keep your spiritual fervour you simply need to make room for God. The key way to do this is through spending time in His word. Psalm 19:7-8 says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.”
Let’s be encouraged to dive deep into the pages of scripture, trusting that God will reignite our zeal today.
