DAY 1 — You Were Made for More
“One day as Jesus was walking along the shore…” Matthew 4:18
Devotional Thought
Life can feel like a treadmill — constant motion but no real progress. Same routine. Same
conversations. Same frustrations. You may feel full… but unfulfilled. Successful… but not satisfied.
Jesus walked onto the shore of ordinary lives and awakened extraordinary purpose.
He sees YOU too — in the middle of work, routine, responsibility. He sees what you were
made to become.
Main Truth
You were never made to simply exist.
You were made for more — a life connected to Jesus, filled with eternal purpose.
Reflection Questions
• Where in your life do you feel stuck or purposeless?
• Do you believe Jesus sees more in you than you see in yourself?
Prayer
Jesus, thank You that You notice me. Break the monotony and awaken my heart to the greater
purpose You have for my life. Amen.
DAY 2 — Holy Interruptions
“Come, follow me…” Matthew 4:19
Devotional Thought
Jesus didn’t wait until the fishermen had free time. He interrupted their work. Their income. Their plans.
Some of the greatest invitations from God arrive disguised as inconvenient interruptions.
Serving. Giving. Helping someone in need. Breaking comfort for calling.
Interruptions – Invitations to a larger life.
Main Truth
Don’t let the disruption of inconvenience rob you of the invitation to a life you were made
for.
Reflection Questions
• What recent “inconvenience” may actually be a holy interruption?
• In what area of your life do you need to allow Jesus to interrupt your plans?
Prayer
Lord, give me eyes to recognize Your interruptions. I choose purpose over convenience.
Amen.
DAY 3 — Jesus Calls the Unqualified
“…and I will show you how to fish for people!” Matthew 4:19
Devotional Thought
Peter didn’t make the cut to follow a rabbi. He wasn’t chosen, respected, or educated like
others.
Yet Jesus chose him.
Why? Because God doesn’t call the qualified — He qualifies the called.
Jesus doesn’t attach Himself to your plan. He invites you to attach your life to His.
Main Truth
Your purpose isn’t found in what you do best — it’s found in Who you follow.
Reflection Questions
• Where do you feel “not enough”?
• What would change if you believed Jesus called you on purpose, for a purpose?
Prayer
Jesus, I surrender my limitations. Thank You for calling me anyway. Give me courage to
follow You fully. Amen.
DAY 4 — Letting Go of Your Nets
“They left their nets at once…” Matthew 4:20
Devotional Thought
Nets represent security:
Identity. Income. Comfort. Control.
Jesus didn’t ask them to abandon the skill — but to release the grip and place their whole
lives into His hands.
Every follower of Jesus eventually reaches this moment:
• Will I cling to safety?
• Or step into calling?
Main Truth
You can’t follow Jesus fully while still holding your nets tightly.
Reflection Questions
• What “nets” are hardest for you to release? (Approval? Comfort? Wealth? Plans?)
• What might God be able to do through what you surrender?
Prayer
Lord, I choose Your purpose over my security. I release what’s in my hands so I can take
hold of Your calling. Amen.
DAY 5 — A Bigger Catch
“They immediately followed Him…” Matthew 4:22
Devotional Thought
Jesus invited these fishermen into a story bigger than themselves — a story that would
change the world.
Fishing for fish builds a living.
Fishing for people builds a kingdom.
Their quick “yes” changed history.
Your yes can change eternity.
Main Truth
When you follow Jesus, your life becomes a net God uses to rescue others.
Reflection Questions
• Who around you needs Jesus?
• How can your everyday life become a way to reach people?
Prayer
Jesus, lead me into Your story. Use me to bring people to You. Help me live a life that truly
matters — for Your kingdom and glory. Amen.
